Wood Floor Sealers, Adhesives and Tools
Wood Flooring Sealers.
Although we stock Granwax products, there is a tremendous choice on the open market, ranging from oil-based to water-based floor sealers, with gloss, satin and matt finishes. Some of the materials available are suggested below, and it is important to check the manufacturer’s specification and guidance before making a decision.
- Granwax products include Granglaze, an oil modified polyurethane, Hardwax Oil, Granseal, Granfinish, Ultrafinish, Aquathane and Masterfinish
- Bonakemi products include polyurethane, and water-based sealers Mega and Traffic
- Osmo supply polyxoil
- Ronseal floor varnish is available in most DIY stores
- Briwax products include Danish Oil
- Lecol produce a range of coloured flooring sealers
- Sadolin produce a tough, hardwearing sealer for all interior wood
Hard Floor Adhesives.
Traditionally wood block floors were stuck down with bitumen. Modern adhesives have largely replaced this. There are many different brands on the market, some of which are spread over the whole floor, others which are applied every 300 mm or so to replace joists or battens. It is essential to check carefully the manufacturer’s specification and recommendations before selecting a particular product. We supply Sika Bond. Other wood floor adhesives include the following.
- Stauf adhesives cover a wide range of specialist applications
- Laybond supply adhesives for fixing battens to concrete, as well as flexible adhesives for fixing wooden floors
- Styccobond produce a range of adhesives for different applications
- Meta-Tec is a new product from America suitable for floors up to 21 mm thick
- Rinaldi products include Parkett S1 and Silovil
- Stikatak products include a wide range of wood flooring adhesives
