Character Oak, Pre-finished

Many of our customers prefer to buy our hardwood flooring already sanded, and then apply a sealer of their own choice.
For those who prefer wooden flooring which has been pre-finished, we can offer a number of options. Both our solid hardwood
and engineered oak flooring can be pre-finished with either an oil or a hard wax/oil sealer. Both of these provide
a durable, dust-free surface which is easy to clean, and which brings out the natural honey colour of the wood,
making a perfect background to almost any choice of furniture and furnishings,and adding a special touch to any room.
Rather like a good wine, wood flooring matures with age.

One of the features of oak flooring is that can readily be stained or fumed to give a darker colour, and this how the colour is achieved
in most dark oak furniture, rather than it being a natural product. We can offer a number of options, for example fuming for up to 4 days,
and staining the wood in walnut, which resembles European walnut rather than American, medium oak, dark oak, Jacobean oak, mahogany
and plum. We can also offer a limed oak, or treat it with a white stain.
Once a hardwood floor has been stained or fumed, it requires a sealer.
