Oak Flooring from Hackworth Sawmill
Character Oak, Walnut Stained, Pre-finished

Character Grade Oak Flooring with a Walnut Stain, Oiled
One of the advantages of oak flooring is that it is a hardwood which readily accepts stains, and this characteristic has been
used extensively in furniture manufacture over the years. And so an option for those who want a darker coloured hardwood floor
is to stain it. A walnut stain offers one possibility, and gives a colour which is more like the traditional European walnut than
the increasingly expensive American Black Walnut, giving a richer brown tone to the oak floor.
Staining and pre-finishing can be done at the sawmill, but also it is relatively easy to stain the wood floor once
it has been fitted, applying the stain either with a cloth, or with a brush and cloth, making sure that the stain and the floor
sealer which you intend to use are compatible
